Bold, italics and emphasis
Use \textbf{…} for bold, \textit{…} for italics and \emph{…} for emphasis (it switches to upright inside italic text). \texttt{…} gives a typewriter font for code or file names.
This is \textbf{bold}, this is \textit{italic},
and this is \emph{emphasised}. Files like \texttt{main.tex}.Lists
itemize makes a bulleted list and enumerate a numbered one; each entry starts with \item. Lists can be nested.
\begin{itemize}
\item First point
\item Second point
\begin{enumerate}
\item A numbered sub-point
\item Another one
\end{enumerate}
\end{itemize}Footnotes, quotes and special characters
Ten characters have a special meaning in LaTeX: # $ % & ~ _ ^ \ { }. To print most of them, put a backslash before them, e.g. \% or \&. Use two backticks and two apostrophes for quotation marks.
Accuracy rose by 12\%\footnote{Measured on the test set.}.
We call this ``robust'' training.
